Current status: temporarily closed
Etihad, which runs the lounge, says: “The Etihad Lounge at Heathrow Airport is temporarily closed for major renovations.” No reopening date has been given.
Don’t book it. Some booking sites still sell The House with its old description and reviews. Tripadvisor marks its paid pass as unavailable. If you’ve already booked, speak to the site you booked with.
If you’re flying Etihad
Etihad is currently sending eligible passengers to two other Terminal 4 lounges instead:
- Gulf Air lounge, near Gate 5
- Plaza Premium Lounge, near Gate 10
Which one depends on your flight and class of travel — check with Etihad before you fly.
Where to go in Terminal 4 instead
Plaza Premium Lounge — our pick
The lounge Heathrow’s own Terminal 4 guide highlights, and the one we’d book. It’s also where Etihad is sending some of its own passengers while The House is shut, so it may be busier than usual — book ahead if you can. Pay on the day, Priority Pass and DragonPass all accepted.
Also in T4: Blush Lounge
Plaza Premium Group also runs Blush, from around £53. We wouldn’t make it your first choice: it scores 2 out of 5 on Tripadvisor from 30 reviews, and every 2026 review we read rated it 1 or 2 — citing limited food, pour-your-own spirits with no ice, no toilet inside the lounge and patchy wifi. It takes Priority Pass and DragonPass, so it’s a fallback if Plaza Premium is full.
The story of The House
2018: a new kind of T4 lounge
The House opened in October 2018, run by No1 Lounges with Etihad. It was pitched as a premium, restaurant-style lounge: à la carte dishes served to your table, cocktails, showers and runway views. Etihad’s premium passengers got in free, and anyone else could pay — around £50 at launch.
That’s the version most booking sites still describe, which is why you’ll see it billed as an affordable taste of first class.
2019 onwards: Etihad takes over
In December 2019 Etihad took direct control of the lounge from No1 Lounges after a review of its lounges worldwide. The lounge later dropped out of the Priority Pass and DragonPass directories.
Its later public reviews were more mixed than its reputation, with complaints about crowding and a limited breakfast. It is now closed for what Etihad calls major renovations — so whatever reopens may look quite different.
Frequently asked
Is The House lounge at Heathrow open?
No. Etihad, which runs it, says the lounge is temporarily closed for major renovations. It has not given a reopening date. We’ll update this page when it reopens.
Can I still book The House at Heathrow?
Some booking sites still list it, but we’d advise against booking. The operator says it is closed, and Tripadvisor marks its paid pass as unavailable. If you have already booked, contact the site you booked with about a refund.
Where do Etihad passengers go at Heathrow now?
Etihad is sending eligible passengers to the Gulf Air lounge near Gate 5 and the Plaza Premium Lounge near Gate 10, depending on flight and class of travel.
What is the best alternative lounge in Terminal 4?
The Plaza Premium Lounge, which takes pay-on-the-day bookings, Priority Pass and DragonPass. Blush Lounge is the other option, but its recent reviews are poor — 2 out of 5 on Tripadvisor — so treat it as a fallback.
Did The House accept Priority Pass?
Not in recent years. It isn’t in the Priority Pass or DragonPass directories for Terminal 4. The Plaza Premium Lounge is in both.
