Why parking prices rise as your date approaches
Airport car parks have a fixed number of spaces, and providers use dynamic pricing to manage demand — much like flights and hotels. Book early and you're competing with fewer other travellers for that date; book close to departure and you're paying whatever's left, which is usually more, and during busy periods can mean no spaces at all.
This applies across all three parking types — Meet & Greet, Park & Ride and On-Airport — though the exact scale of the increase varies by provider and airport. See our guide to the parking types if you're still deciding which one suits your trip.
A rough timeline
- 4+ weeks ahead: generally the best pricing window, and the widest choice of dates and providers.
- 1–4 weeks ahead: still reasonable, but prices are noticeably higher than the early-booking rate, especially for popular travel dates.
- Under a week: expect the highest prices, and a real risk that your preferred provider or car park is already fully booked — particularly during school holidays.
Frequently asked
Can I still book the day before I fly?
Usually yes, subject to availability, but expect to pay significantly more than the advance rate — and during school holidays or peak summer, some car parks do sell out entirely.
What if my flight dates change after I've booked?
This depends on the individual provider's amendment and cancellation terms, which vary — always check the flexibility of your rate before paying for a non-refundable booking if your plans still feel uncertain.
Is it cheaper to book parking and lounge access together?
There's no bundled discount on ClubAirSide specifically, but booking both in advance rather than at the airport saves money on each independently — see our cheapest parking guide and cheapest lounge guide for the specifics on each.
