ClubAirSideLounges & Parking Compared

Cheapest airport parking in the UK

Parking prices swing a lot by airport, by type, and by how far ahead you book. Here's where the lowest prices tend to be, and how to spend even less.

Type matters more than airport

Across almost every airport on the directory, the gap between parking types is bigger than the gap between airports. Park & Ride is consistently the cheapest way to leave your car, On-Airport tends to sit in the middle, and Meet & Greet is the most expensive — often by a noticeable margin, since you're paying for someone to handle the car for you rather than just for a space to leave it in.

If budget is the priority and you don't mind a short shuttle transfer, filtering the parking directory to Park & Ride first is the single biggest lever you can pull.

Regional airports generally undercut London

As with lounges, parking at regional airports — Newcastle, Liverpool, Bristol, Humberside and similar — tends to run cheaper than the London airports, where higher land costs push prices up across all three parking types. If you have a choice of departure airport, that's worth factoring in alongside flight prices.

Practical ways to cut the cost further

Book online, not at the gate

Pre-booked online prices are consistently cheaper than paying at the barrier on the day — sometimes dramatically so. Even if you're not sure of your exact return time, booking ahead is close to a free discount in most cases.

Get quotes from more than one provider

  • Filter to your airport on the parking comparison page and open a quote from two or three providers for the same dates — that's the only reliable way to find the cheapest, since airport parking is dynamically priced.
  • Compare Park & Ride against On-Airport specifically — where both exist at your airport, the price difference is sometimes smaller than people assume.
  • Check your travel dates aren't in school holidays or peak summer if you have any flexibility — prices rise noticeably in those windows.

Frequently asked

Is cheaper parking less secure?

Not inherently — Park & Ride and On-Airport car parks used by our listed partners are standard commercial or official airport facilities, not informal arrangements. Price mainly reflects convenience (shuttle transfer vs walk vs door-to-door drop-off), not security standard.

Does every airport have a Park & Ride option?

No — some smaller airports, like Belfast City and Humberside on our directory, currently only have On-Airport parking, with no Park & Ride or Meet & Greet operator serving them. Check the specific airport's listings before assuming a cheaper option exists.

What's the difference between Park & Ride and On-Airport again?

Park & Ride is off-airport with a shuttle bus; On-Airport is run by the airport itself and is a walk from the terminal. See our full Meet & Greet vs Park & Ride vs On-Airport guide for the complete breakdown.
