Is Priority Pass worth it? Work out your own break-even

At the UK average of £39 a lounge visit, Priority Pass’s cheapest plan starts paying for itself at 5 visits a year and its dearest at 11. But that is the average — your answer turns on which lounge you use and who travels with you. Put your own numbers in and the sum is done against the 24 UK lounge prices we’ve verified ourselves.

The short answer

At the 24-lounge UK average of £39 a visit, one traveller with no guests, here is where each plan starts paying for itself. Prices as Priority Pass published them on 29 September 2026.

PlanAnnual feeFee per visitBreaks even at
Standarda fee on every visit£69£245 visits a year
Standard Plus10 visits included, then a fee£229£246 visits a year
Prestigeall member visits included£419—11 visits a year

Those are averages. Your own answer depends on which lounge you use and whether anyone travels with you — the calculator below works it out on your numbers, and guests move it a long way.

Thinking about Priority Pass?

Priority Pass’s UK plans run £69 to £419 a year as published on 29 September 2026. If the calculator says a membership works for the way you travel, check the current price — they run promotions, and what you’re quoted may be better than the figures above.

It’s an annual membership, not a single ticket — it only pays for itself if you fly enough to use it more than a couple of times a year. Our break-even calculator does that sum on your own trips, at the lounge prices we’ve verified.

ClubAirSide earns a commission if you join Priority Pass through the button above. It never changes the price you pay, and it has no bearing on the arithmetic — the calculator will tell you a membership is a bad idea whenever your numbers say so. How we make money.

The prices behind the sum

We only use walk-in prices we’ve checked ourselves against the operator’s or the airport’s own site. That’s 24 of the 43 UK lounges that accept Priority Pass; the rest don’t publish a price we can verify, so they’re left out of the average rather than guessed at.

Reading your result honestly

Guests are what usually kills it

A membership covers one person. Every tier charges a guest fee, so a couple flying together pays the annual fee and a guest fee on every visit. Two people booking pay-per-visit is often cheaper than one membership plus a guest — put 1 in the guests box and watch the break-even move.

Which lounge you use matters more than how often

Four visits to Glasgow’s UpperDeck at £27 is £108 of door spend. Four visits at Heathrow’s average of £46 is £184. Same trips, a £76 swing in what a membership has to beat.

Check your bank first

Plenty of UK current accounts and credit cards bundle Priority Pass or a similar scheme. Before you buy one, check what you already hold — paying twice for the same lounges is the most common mistake in this whole category.

Where it isn’t accepted

43 of our listed lounges at 19 airports take it, but some UK airports have none, and the Clubrooms lounges charge members an extra fee on arrival. If you fly from one airport, check that airport before you buy anything.

Frequently asked

How many times do I need to fly for Priority Pass to be worth it?

It depends far more on the lounge price than on the number of flights. Across the 24 UK lounges where we have verified a walk-in price, the average is £39 and the range is £27 to £54. Divide the annual fee you are quoted by your typical lounge price and you have your answer: that is exactly what the calculator above does.

Does Priority Pass cover guests?

No, not free. Guests are charged a per-visit fee on every tier, so a couple travelling together pays the membership plus a guest fee each time. That is the single biggest reason a membership that looks good for one traveller stops making sense for two. The calculator has a guests field for this.

Which Priority Pass tier should I compare?

The entry tier has a low annual fee but charges a member fee on every visit, so it only wins if you visit rarely. The middle tier includes a set number of visits before the fee starts. The top tier includes unlimited member visits for a much higher fee. Pick the shape that matches your travel in the calculator and enter the prices Priority Pass quotes you.

What does Priority Pass cost in the UK?

As published on 29 September 2026: Standard £69 a year with a £24 fee on every visit, Standard Plus £229 with 10 visits included before that fee starts, and Prestige £419 with all member visits included. Every plan charges £24 per guest per visit. These change and go on promotion, so check before you buy — the calculator lets you type in whatever you are actually quoted.

Is a lounge membership cheaper than booking each visit?

Only above your break-even. Below it, booking each visit through a comparison site is cheaper — our cheapest lounge access guide covers that case, and Lounge Pass is worth checking for one-offs, particularly if you are travelling with children.

Do all UK lounges accept Priority Pass?

No. 43 of the lounges we list at 19 UK airports accept it — see the full list. Some airports have none, and at the Clubrooms lounges members are charged an extra fee on top of the membership.
